Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 October 2026

The following Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to, and use of, the Pec website at pec.cam, the Pec organiser application at app.pec.cam, every guest page published at pec.cam and all associated services (collectively referred to as the "Platform"), provided by Pelume Technologies Limited (all references to Pec, Pelume Technologies Limited and its associated services shall hereinafter be referred to as "we", "us" or "our"). While we have endeavoured to set out the terms on which we provide the Platform as clearly as possible, certain provisions are necessarily technical in nature. Should you require further explanation of any provision, all support queries can be directed to hello@pec.cam, and we would be pleased to assist.

By creating an account, by indicating your acceptance of these Terms, or by otherwise accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, which constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us, and you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these Terms, you are not permitted to use the Platform and should cease using it immediately. Please review these Terms carefully and ensure that you understand them before using the Platform.

1. Who we are

1.1. We are Pelume Technologies Limited, a company incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 17000375. Our registered office is at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

1.2. All support queries, and any notice to be given to us under these Terms, can be directed to hello@pec.cam.

2. Definitions

2.1. Throughout these Terms, the following expressions shall bear the meanings set out below:

  • "Card" refers to the square design created by an Organiser in which each Photo is presented, including its text, colours, stickers, logos and other elements;
  • "Content" refers to any text, image, logo, design or other material that an Organiser uploads to, or creates on, the Platform, including each Card;
  • "Event" refers to an occasion set up by an Organiser on the Platform, together with its Card, Guest Page and Photos;
  • "Fee" refers to the one-off sum payable for an Event under the Plan selected by the Organiser;
  • "Guest" refers to any individual who visits a Guest Page in order to take or upload a Photo, and who does not require an account in order to do so;
  • "Guest Page" refers to the page published at pec.cam for each Event, through which Guests take or upload Photos;
  • "Organiser" refers to any individual who holds an account on the Platform, whether on their own behalf or on behalf of a company or organisation, and references to "you" and "your" shall be construed accordingly;
  • "Photo" refers to each image taken or uploaded by a Guest through a Guest Page, as presented within the Card;
  • "Plan" refers to each of Pec Free, Pec Mini, Pec Lite, Pec Pro, Pec Max and Pec Custom, as described on the Platform; and
  • "QR Sign" refers to the printable sign generated by the Platform for each Event, which directs Guests to its Guest Page

2.2. Headings are included for convenience only and shall not affect the interpretation of these Terms. Any words following the terms "including", "include" or any similar expression shall be construed as illustrative and shall not limit the sense of the words preceding them.

3. The nature of the Platform

3.1. The Platform is a virtual photo booth. It enables Organisers to design a Card for an Event, to pay a one-off Fee for that Event, and to share a Guest Page by way of a link or a QR Sign. Guests may then take or upload Photos from their own devices, each of which is presented within the Card, made available to the Guest to keep and share, and made available to the Organiser on the Platform.

3.2. Each Photo is composed on the Guest's own device and is then transmitted to us for storage on the Organiser's behalf. We do not attend, organise, supervise or control any Event, and we make no representation or warranty as to the conduct of any Organiser or Guest.

3.3. The Platform is not an emergency service and is not monitored in real time.

4. Who can use Pec

4.1. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to create an account or to act as an Organiser. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are aged 18 or over and that you have the legal capacity to form a binding contract with us, in addition to confirming that you are:

  • (a) not barred from using the Platform under the laws applicable in the country in which you are located;
  • (b) not the subject of, nor owned or controlled by any person who is the subject of, any applicable sanctions, nor located in any country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions; and
  • (c) not an individual whose account has previously been suspended or removed from the Platform, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing

4.2. Where you create an account on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to bind that company or organisation to these Terms, and references to "you" shall include it.

4.3. Guests are not required to create an account. A Guest's use of a Guest Page is subject to clause 9 and to any rules set by the Organiser of the relevant Event.

5. Accounts

5.1. You may sign in to the Platform by way of a link sent to your email address or by way of a password. All information that you submit to us should be truthful, accurate and complete, and you should update it should it become inaccurate or incomplete.

5.2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and the security of the email account associated with your account. Accordingly, you are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You should notify us immediately should you suspect or become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of its security.

6. Events, Plans and Photo limits

6.1. Each Event is subject to the Plan selected by the Organiser at the time of payment. The Plans currently available, and the number of Photos and the period for which Photos are kept under each, are set out below:

Plan Photos Photos kept for
Pec Free 10, for up to 5 Guests 7 days
Pec Mini 25 30 days
Pec Lite 50 30 days
Pec Pro Unlimited, subject to clause 6.3 90 days
Pec Max Unlimited, subject to clause 6.3 One year
Pec Custom As agreed in writing As agreed in writing

6.2. Once the number of Photos included in a Plan has been reached, the Guest Page shall cease to accept further Photos. Photos taken under Pec Free, Pec Mini and Pec Lite carry a small Pec mark.

6.3. Unlimited Photos are provided for the ordinary use of a single Event. We reserve the right to restrict the number of Photos accepted for an Event where we reasonably consider that its use is automated, abusive or not consistent with a single Event.

6.4. The period for which Photos are kept begins on the date of the Event. Photos shall be deleted at the end of that period, and we shall endeavour to notify the Organiser no less than seven days beforehand. The Organiser is responsible for downloading any Photos that they wish to keep.

6.5. Once an Event has been paid for, or made live under Pec Free, its Plan may be upgraded to a larger Plan by paying the difference between the Fee for that Plan and the Fees already paid for the Event. A Plan cannot be changed to a smaller Plan. The Organiser may continue to edit the Card, the name and the date of the Event.

6.6. Pec Free is provided without charge. An Organiser may have one Event live under Pec Free at any time, and we may withdraw or change Pec Free at any time without affecting an Event that is already live.

7. Fees and payment

7.1. The Fee for each Event is displayed before payment and is payable once, in US dollars, at the time at which the Organiser completes checkout. All sums are inclusive of any value added tax or sales tax that we are required to charge.

7.2. Payments are processed by our payment service provider, Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, "Stripe"). We do not collect or store full payment card details, which are collected and held exclusively by Stripe. Where your payment card is denominated in a different currency, any conversion shall be carried out by your bank or by Stripe at its prevailing rate, and may be subject to charges which are neither set nor received by us.

7.3. An Event becomes live, and its Guest Page begins to accept Photos, once payment has been confirmed. A receipt for each payment is sent by Stripe to the email address associated with your account.

8. Cancellation and refunds

8.1. Where you are a consumer, you may be entitled by law to cancel a contract for services concluded at a distance within 14 days. By paying for an Event, you expressly request that we make the Event live immediately, and you acknowledge that you shall lose your right to cancel once the Event has taken place or once Photos have been taken at it.

8.2. Should you wish to cancel an Event before any Photo has been taken at it, you may contact us at hello@pec.cam within 14 days of payment and we shall refund the Fee in full. Any other request for a refund shall be considered at our discretion.

8.3. Where a Fee is refunded, the Event shall be returned to draft and its Guest Page shall cease to accept Photos. Any refund shall be returned by Stripe to the original payment method, and the time taken for it to become available shall depend upon your bank.

9. Guests and Photos

9.1. The Organiser of each Event is responsible for the Event, for the manner in which its Guest Page and QR Sign are shared, and for ensuring that its use complies with applicable law, including any law relating to the photographing of individuals, the privacy of Guests and the use of Photos.

9.2. Where an Event may be attended by children, the Organiser is responsible for obtaining any consent required from a parent or guardian before a child is photographed or uses the Guest Page.

9.3. Each Guest may keep and share the Photos that they take. By taking or uploading a Photo through a Guest Page, a Guest confirms that they are entitled to do so, that each person shown has agreed to appear in it, and that the Photo may be made available to the Organiser of the Event.

9.4. Photos are made available to the Organiser of the relevant Event, who may download, keep and share them. We are not responsible for any use of a Photo by an Organiser or a Guest.

10. Restrictions on how you can use the Platform

10.1. We hope that you enjoy using the Platform. There are, however, a number of activities for which the Platform may not be used. Accordingly, you may not, nor may you enable any other person to:

  • (a) use the Platform in connection with any activity that is unlawful in the place in which the Event takes place, or the facilitation, encouragement or concealment of any such activity;
  • (b) create or upload any Content or Photo that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit or violent, or which infringes the rights of any person, including their intellectual property rights or their right to privacy;
  • (c) create or upload any image of a child that is sexual, abusive or otherwise inappropriate, which we shall report to the relevant authorities;
  • (d) photograph any person without their knowledge, or in any place in which they would reasonably expect privacy;
  • (e) impersonate any person, brand or organisation, or use any logo, trademark or name which you are not entitled to use;
  • (f) access the Platform by any automated means, including bots and scrapers, or interfere with, overload or probe the Platform, or circumvent its security measures, rate limits, Photo limits or access controls;
  • (g) copy, adapt, reverse engineer or resell any part of the Platform, save to the extent permitted by applicable law; or
  • (h) use the Platform in any manner which breaches any applicable law or these Terms

10.2. Engaging in any of the activities described in this clause 10 may lead to the removal of Content or Photos, the closure of an Event, or the suspension or termination of your account, without prior notice to you.

11. Reports, moderation and enforcement

11.1. Any person may report a Guest Page, a Card or a Photo to us at hello@pec.cam. We review all reports and may take such action as we consider appropriate, including the removal of Content or Photos, the closure of an Event, the suspension of an account and the referral of matters to the police or other relevant authorities.

11.2. We do not review Photos before they are stored, but we may review any Content or Photo where we receive a report, where we consider it necessary in order to enforce these Terms or to protect the safety of any person, or where we are required to do so by law.

11.3. Complaints concerning any Content or Photo which you consider to be illegal or harmful, the handling of any report, or any action we have taken in respect of your Content or your account, can be directed to hello@pec.cam. We shall acknowledge each complaint, consider it fairly and inform you of its outcome and of any action taken. Where we determine that Content was removed, or an account restricted, in error, we shall reverse that action. We operate this procedure in accordance with our obligations under the Online Safety Act 2023 and any equivalent legislation applicable to you.

12. Our limited right to use your Content and Photos

12.1. While we do not claim any rights of ownership in relation to your Content or to any Photo, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and adapt your Content and the Photos taken at your Events, solely for the purposes of operating and providing the Platform. This licence shall terminate upon the deletion of the relevant Content or Photo from the Platform.

12.2. We shall not use any Photo, any Card or any logo that you upload in our marketing materials without your prior consent.

12.3. You represent and warrant that you own, or are otherwise entitled to use, your Content, including any logo, image or name that you include in a Card, and that your Content neither breaches any applicable law or these Terms nor infringes the rights of any person.

13. Termination of your account

13.1. You may choose to delete your account at any time, without reason, through the settings of the Platform.

13.2. Upon the deletion of your account, your profile, Events, Cards and Photos shall be deleted, save that we shall retain records of each payment, as described in our Privacy Policy, in order to comply with our legal obligations. Any Photo which has already been downloaded or shared by a Guest or by you shall not be affected.

13.3. Any provision of these Terms which by its nature is intended to survive the deletion of your account shall continue in full force and effect, including clauses 3, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 14 to 20.

14. Intellectual property rights

14.1. We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights which subsist in the Platform, including its software, design, templates, stickers, text, graphics and logos, other than your Content. These rights are protected by laws and treaties around the world, and we retain and reserve all such rights.

14.2. All trademarks, logos, service names and service marks displayed on the Platform, including the Pec name and mark, are our property, and you are not permitted to use them without our prior written approval.

14.3. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the Platform, including its templates and stickers within your Cards, for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not extend beyond what is described in this clause 14.3.

14.4. Should you provide us with any feedback or suggestion, we may use it without restriction and without any obligation to you.

15. Disclaimers

15.1. We take pride in the Platform and make every effort to ensure that it is provided to you in as uninterrupted a manner as possible. There may, however, be instances in which this is not possible. Accordingly, the Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend or withdraw the Platform, or any part of it, at any time, and we neither guarantee nor represent or warrant that the Platform will always be available or function without delay, disruption or error, or that it will be secure.

15.2. The Guest Page relies upon the camera, browser and network connection of each Guest's device, which are not under our control. We do not guarantee that every device will be able to take or upload a Photo.

15.3. The Platform relies upon services provided by third parties, including Stripe. Such services are not under our control, and your use of them is governed by their respective terms. We accept no responsibility for them.

16. Limitations of liability

16.1. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude our liability to you for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded pursuant to applicable law. Where you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms shall affect your statutory rights, including those arising under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

16.2. Subject to clause 16.1, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable to you for:

  • (a) any act or omission of any Guest or Organiser, including in connection with any Event or Photo;
  • (b) the loss of any Photo which has been deleted in accordance with clause 6.4, or which you have deleted;
  • (c) any loss which was not reasonably foreseeable at the time at which you accepted these Terms;
  • (d) any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or data, where you use the Platform for the purposes of a business;
  • (e) any act or omission of Stripe, any hosting provider or any other third party outside our reasonable control; or
  • (f) any delay or failure in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control

16.3. Subject to clause 16.1, in no event shall our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, exceed the greater of: (i) one hundred US dollars ($100.00); and (ii) the total Fees paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to your claim.

16.4. Where you use the Platform for the purposes of a business, all terms implied by law are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

17. Indemnity

17.1. As part of the agreement to provide the Platform to you, you agree, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, to indemnify and hold harmless Pelume Technologies Limited and its directors, officers, employees and agents from and against all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) which may arise out of or relate in any way to your breach of these Terms, your breach of any applicable law, your Content, or any Event which you organise, including any Photo taken at it.

18. Changes to these Terms of Service

18.1. We may from time to time make changes to these Terms. Where we consider that a change will materially affect you or your rights, we shall notify you by email or through the Platform no less than 14 days before that change takes effect, save where the change is required for legal, safety or security reasons, in which case it may take effect sooner.

18.2. Your continued use of the Platform after a change has taken effect shall constitute your acceptance of the amended Terms. Should you not accept a change, you should cease using the Platform and delete your account.

19. General

19.1. Email counts as "in writing". We shall send notices to you at the email address associated with your account. Where these Terms refer to "in writing" or "written", this includes email.

19.2. We may transfer our rights and obligations to someone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, including in connection with a sale or reorganisation of our business. Where this occurs, we shall notify you and take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer does not adversely affect your rights under these Terms.

19.3. Personal agreement. The agreement formed under these Terms is personal to you, and you may not transfer any of your rights or obligations under it to any other person without our prior written approval.

19.4. Nobody else has any rights under these Terms. These Terms are between you and us, and no other person shall have any right to enforce any of them, save that the persons referred to in clause 17 may enforce that clause.

19.5. If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful, the remainder will continue in force. Each clause of these Terms operates separately. Should any court or relevant authority determine that any of them is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining clauses shall continue in full force and effect.

19.6. Even if we delay in enforcing these Terms, we may still enforce them later. No failure or delay on our part in exercising any right or remedy shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy, nor prevent us from taking steps against you at a later date.

19.7. Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms agreed in writing for Pec Custom, constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Platform.

19.8. Language. These Terms are drawn up in the English language. In the event of any inconsistency between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

20.1. These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales and, subject to clause 20.2, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

20.2. Where you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence. Where you are a consumer resident in the European Union or elsewhere, you shall retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in its courts.

20.3. Prior to commencing any proceedings, we would ask that you first contact us at hello@pec.cam so that we may endeavour to resolve your complaint.
